
In recent decades orgasm research has entered a new era. The widespread use of antidepressants and antipsychotics, and their significant and mainly untoward effects on sexual responses and orgasm in humans, has provided clues not only to the neurotransmitter bases of orgasm but also to the development of new drugs that can avoid those side-effects.
